The Vampire Facelift

The Vampire Facelift – What’s So Special About It?

The Vampire Facelift® is getting a lot of exposure on the news and in magazine articles lately. Many famous faces are choosing it as an alternative to surgical facelifts and the feedback is quite amazing. So, what is the Vampire Facelift® and what makes it different than other similar facial treatments?

The Vampire Facelift® is a safe, effective and long-lasting non-surgical facelift treatment. It is so unique that it was awarded a registered trademark and requires physicians to complete a rigorous training and certification process to be authorized to offer the service. One of the most important aspects of the Vampire Facelift® includes the process of deriving and injecting Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from the client’s own blood using a centrifuge and equipment approved by the FDA. So, what is PRP? PRP is what is activated in the body when an injury occurs to facilitate healing and growth of new tissue. Remember when you were a kid and skinned your knee? Maybe you picked at the scab and saw a yellowish goo underneath? That goo was PRP.

PRP Speed The Healing

PRP has been used in orthopedics, dentistry and a variety of other medical specialties for decades to speed the healing process of injuries and grow new tissue. Because it is derived directly from the patient’s own blood, the risk of rejection is almost zero and the body responds immediately to this “call to action.” Dr. Charles Runels, the physician who developed the Vampire Facelift® procedure, saw that there were medical applications for PRP in both the cosmetic industry as well as sexual wellness specialties. Dr. Runels designed the Vampire Facelift® to provide both an immediate improvement in the overall facial structure and beauty of his clients while injecting PRP in a very systemized, specific way that encourages new growth of collagen and skin cells after the initial treatment.

Vampite FaceliftSome physicians and spas try to reproduce the same results with their own version of a PRP based facial or facelift and may even comment that “vampire facelift” is only a coined term for a PRP based facelift. That is simply not true; a registered trademark cannot be issued for a generic, “coined” term for a service. The Vampire Facielift® and Vampire Facial® require training and certification in the specialized procedures used to maximize beauty and long-term effects of the treatment. That is why Dr. Runels keeps an up to date listing of all certified physicians on his website.

Dr. Harry Collins feels strongly that the Vampire Facelift® is the safest and most effective non-surgical facelift treatment available today and has therefore gone through the training and certification process to be able to provide this service to his clients at Savannah Age Management Medicine. He is currently the only physician certified to perform the Vampire Facelift® and Vampire Facial® procedures in the Georgia Low Country to include Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Tybee Island, Hilton Head, Beaufort and all of Chatham County, Effingham County, Bryan County, Liberty County, Long County.
